The Bible says that 'no man will know the day or the hour,' but the believer will not be 'unaware' of the things to come during the endtimes.

Matthew 24:33:"so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door." 34 "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place."

A quick study of Biblical "Types & Shadows." These are taught in Bible Colleges and Seminaries, but any Spirit-lead believer can see them for themselves!! They are predecessors of God's plans but are not the actual events, such as: Abraham was the father of many nations, and was a 'Type & Shadow' of God the Father, with Isaac to be sacrificed by him, as a 'type & shadow' of Jesus the Son of God as the sacrificial lamb. There are many, many 'types & shadows' in the Bible, with even Nero (Roman Emperor who killed Christians) and Adolf Hitler (killed both Jews & Christians & burned Bibles) as post-N.T.'types & shadows' of the Anti-Christ to come!!

God used Noah as a 'type & shadow' of the endtime judgement of the earth and salvation of his chosen ppl. And, gave this similarity to the days of Noah and the great flood:

Matthew 24:37 "For the coming of the Son of Man will be [Gen 6:5; 7:6-23; Luke 17:26] just like the days of Noah. 38 "For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that [Gen 7:7] Noah entered the ark,"

Noah built an ark (we will build our 'spiritual' ark, or tabernacle, or booths as in 'The Feast of Booths', yet to come of the Jewish feasts!), tho he did not know where or when the water would come to float it, but knew of a 'season;' and, God closed the door and brought the flood.

I read a great 'type & shadow' of the rapture of the Church, or 2nd coming of Jesus in the Book of Joshua (Joshua is Hebrew for 'Savior'):

Joshua 3 Israel Crosses the Jordan

1Then Joshua rose early in the morning; and he and all the sons of Israel set out from Shittim and came to the Jordan, and they lodged there before they crossed.

2At the end of three days the officers went through the midst of the camp;

3and they commanded the people, saying, "When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God with the Levitical priests carrying it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it.

4"However, there shall be between you and it a distance of about 2,000 cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you shall go, for you have not passed this way before."

5Then Joshua said to the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you."

6And Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, "Take up the ark of the covenant and cross over ahead of the people." So they took up the ark of the covenant and went ahead of the people.

8"You shall, moreover, command the priests who are carrying the ark of the covenant, saying, 'When you come to the edge of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.'"

11"Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth is crossing over ahead of you into the Jordan.

12"Now then, take for yourselves twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one man for each tribe.

13"It shall come about when the soles of the feet of the priests who carry the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan will be cut off, and the waters which are flowing down from above will stand in one heap."

14So when the people set out from their tents to cross the Jordan with the priests carrying the ark of the covenant before the people,

15and when those who carried the ark came into the Jordan, and the feet of the priests carrying the ark were dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the days of harvest),

16the waters which were flowing down from above stood and rose up in one heap, a great distance away at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those which were flowing down toward the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, were completely cut off. So the people crossed opposite Jericho.

17And the priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan while all Israel crossed on dry ground, until all the nation had finished crossing the Jordan.

Joshua 4 Memorial Stones from Jordan

1Now when all the nation had finished crossing the Jordan, the LORD spoke to Joshua, saying,

2"Take for yourselves twelve men from the people, one man from each tribe,

3and command them, saying, 'Take up for yourselves twelve stones from here out of the middle of the Jordan, from the place where the priests' feet are standing firm, and carry them over with you and lay them down in the lodging place where you will lodge tonight.'"

4So Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the sons of Israel, one man from each tribe;

5and Joshua said to them, "Cross again to the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan, and each of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel.

6"Let this be a sign among you, so that when your children ask later, saying, 'What do these stones mean to you?'

7then you shall say to them, 'Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off ' So these stones shall become a memorial to the sons of Israel forever."

Writers Comment: The River Jordan is an accepted 'type' of crossing from death to the promise land (eternal life). The ark is also a type of the Lord Jeus Christ, and the priests that carried it over and the 12 stones are types of the 12 Apostles or foundation of the church. The ppl were told to 'consecrate' themselves (a Holy life for the N.T. believer) and follow the ark 2000 cubits behind, or a 'type' of 2000 years after the death of Jesus and his Resurrection! So, the 'best-guessed' birth date of Jesus was from 1 to 4 BC (not certain!), and he was anointed at age 30 YO with a 3 yr ministry before his crucifixion (age 33 YO), then that crossing of the believers would be 2000 yrs later from his death, or from 2029 to 2032 AD...?! Something to think about, believers!! That's a 'season!'

Hey Man:

Just a note to say that while I have always enjoyed exploring types and prophetic similitudes, most of the time they are relative to perspectives, and therefore left to interpretation. I can clearly see what you are saying; but we will probably not see things the same way concerning the Rapture or Second Coming. I too, was a proponent pre-trib rapture theory many years ago; but I began to see flaws and cracks in what was being taught and I saw the paralyzing effects of that docrine in the lives of those who embrace it.

Most of the people that I know that teach or believe it, have never grown up or become all that they could be in Yahshua. Many of them that are saying that Jesus could come at any second, really do not believe it, and the way they live speaks to what they really embrace. I have heard some of them say what difference does it make if you get an education or get out of debt. As a matter of fact, some of them have said that they are going to continue enjoy life and spend all of the money that they can. You know the spirit, eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die. Now, I know that for some people the pre-trib rapture theory seems to bring comfort; but if you listen to them for very long, it becomes evident that they are living in fear and hoping that what they believe is true. I would much rather embrace something that is believable, and something that does not depart from the original intent of Yahweh concerning His Kingdom. With that said, my position concerning this teaching right now is, that if you and others are right, I am ready and we will all rejoice on that day; but if you are wrong and we are right. then millions of people will lose faith and fall away in the coming days. They very well may fall away anyway; but it will not be because I am teaching a great escape before all of the trouble breaks out. :)

Blessings:

Blake
You've misread me! I'm not a pre-trib rapturist. I dont believe that God will remove us from the earth during the tribulation, but will protect us as he did Noah. I believe that when He comes that we will meet him in the air (the dead in Christ first!), but at the end of the tribulation.

I also believe that the O.T. feasts are types of the N.T. spiritual events (Passover, the crucifixion of the Lamb of God & His blood along side the lintels/head board; Pentecost, the first fruits of the Harvest, etc.). I also believe the Feast of Booths as us building our own 'spiritual' booths for the tribulation period, with the Feast of Trumpets being the calling up ('end-time' rapture) of the church.

Think you are a little to focused on the pre or mid-trib ppl..ha ha. But as you said, I will be ready for whatever God has planned....Maranatha (Lord come)
