Hi everyone, I hope everyone is doing well. It has been a while since I have posted and I think the last time I started a discussion was a prayer request for my dog Tommy. Well I'm asking for your prayers for my other dog. She is a 2-year-old toy poodle named Jasmine. She has been in and out of the hospital for the past couple of days because she has been vomiting, but the vomit is not food, its seems to be the acids from her stomach. At the moment she is in the hospital receiving the care she needs because anything she eats and drinks (including medications) she won't keep them down because she just vomits. The doctors are trying to figure out what is causing the vomiting and the pain she is feeling in her stomach. All her blood work, ultrasound, sonograms, x-rays come back good, the only thing that the vet thinks it might be is pancreatitis. We are waiting for the blood results for the pancreatitis because the ultrasound doesn't show inflammation in the pancreas, but we were told that the inflammation might be too small to see in the ultrasound.

I ask you to please pray for Jasmine. I'm telling you these past couple of days has been really hard for the family because seeing her crying of the pain and I mean crying, her eyes were watery and her face was wet from the tears, just breaks our hearts. Everytime she was about to vomit she would pace around the house and come to anyone in the house and look at use and cry, as if she was asking us to help her. This is our little baby of the house and we can’t imagine the pain she has felt because she can’t tell us, but we know it has to be really bad because she was just very down and not herself. I told my mom that I have some what of an idea of how it probably feels to have a child because its been really hard trying to figure out what is wrong with her, spending most of the day back and forth with her doctors and just feeling helpless because there isn’t anything we can do for her, but keep in the hospital to get the care she needs. Please pray that whatever she has, that it won’t be too serious and we are able to control it. Also pray that financially we are able to find ways to pay for her medical bills. Its very expensive to keep her in the hospital and to do all the exams, but I know God provides because he has provided us with money that we didn’t know we had to pay for her bills. I know if it becomes too expensive that I will get a second job so she can get the proper care that she needs. Also please pray for my mom, she is taking it the hardest because Jasmine is her companion when we all go to work and school and it just breaks her heart that Jasmine has felt so much pain for such a little dog. Oh, I also ask to pray for the doctors that are taking care of Jasmine, that God gives them the knowledge and understanding as to what is really wrong with Jasmine.

Like I said before this is our baby of the house and we love her so much. It’s so weird her not being in the house because we are so used to her barking and playing around and although I live with 5 other people and another dog and a hamster, it feels incomplete. I caught myself a couple of types calling her name when I got home from work or playing with her toys waiting for her to come and play.

Well I am going to try to sign back more often to keep everyone updated with her status. Last time I spoke to her doctor, she told me that Jasmine has not vomited since she was admitted and was very alert. She was put in the ICU and has been given IV, antibiotics, and anti-vomiting medication and she will be kept without food for the next 24 hours. If she doesn’t vomit in the next 24 hours, she will be introduced to water first and slowing to her food.

Well thank you for taking your time and reading my request. Your prayers are greatly appreciated. I know God can help her because he created her.

PS- Please keep Tommy, my other dog, in your prayers too, he has arthritis and sometimes his back left leg is in pain. He is my other baby. Sometimes the medications work for him and other days they don’t.

This is Jasmine.

This is Tommy.

Ha Ha! I love the polo shirt on Tommy. Dogs are so incredible. Its like God created them just for us, and they love us no matter what we do. I will keep your doggies in my prayers. It sounds like Jasmine is doing better. I pray that she continues and gets fully restored to her perky self again. I also pray for your mom, and that she will be comforted soon with a happy lick from Jasmine. I am also praying that God will provide the finances for the medical bills and relieve your family from that additional stress.

Ask your vet about a supplements for Tommy's arthritis. Glucosamine, Vitamin C, Chondroitin, and MSM (methyl sulphonyl methane). There is a medicine for dogs that contains all of these called Mobilise and isn't too expensive. Around $30-$40, depending on the size of the dog.

I had athritis 10 years ago, along with a heel spur that needed to be operated on. I took Chondroitin and Glucosamine and my athritis went away along with the heel spur. My athritis has come back, so I need to take it again. But I only took the medicine for 2 months and was athritic free for ten years.

Also make sure Tommy gets some gentle exercise, preferably swimming. Massage is good for him too.

I love dogs and think they are the very best pets anyone can ever own. I will keep them both in my prayers. Here's a pic of my blue cattle dog, Lexi.

Thank you Randee and Art for your prayers.

Randee, we have been giving Tommy glucosamine and at first we saw an improvement, but now he is usually the same, walking on three legs. He actually learned how to run on three legs, which is amazing. But I'm going to tell my mom about the other ones you have listed.

Update on Jasmine. She is actually doing much better. She vomited last night, but today she hasn't. The doctor told me that she is very alert and just wants to be carried around and when she is put down she starts to howl and bark. She also told me that whenever someone carries her she just kisses them all over their face...lol... that is my little spoiled brat...lol. The test for pancreatitis came out negative, so we are happy it isn't that, but it turns out that in the x-rays that were retaken, the radiologist sees that there is foreign matter where the stomach and small intestine meet. They also to an extra x-ray to make sure and the doctor said she doesn't see what the radiologist sees, but the radiologist still sees it. They are going to perform surgery to take out whatever it is. The doctor told me that it could be something that she ate and it got stuck. We don't know yet what time the surgery is going to be, but please to continue to pray that the surgery is a success. I know God is great and he will take care of her and help us.

God Bless!

I will keep Jasmine in my prayers. And Tommy too. For some reason, I am wondering if this blockage could be something like a hairball and with proper medicine it could disintegrate. God bless you and your doggies!

Quick update.

Jasmine had her surgery last week on Thursday. It went well, but they found nothing that was causing a blockage. They took a biopsy of her stomach and small intestine and the results came in yesterday. She has a mild case of inflammatory bowel disease and an allergy that I don't know at this moment. Thanks for you prayers and please continue to pray that all the treatments go well for her.

God Bless!!!
