It is not surprising that our nation has pick our next king. How believes in abortions, homosexuality. At this time of darkness in our nation believer need to stand on the truth of God's Word no matter what oppositions lay ahead. In is not a time for backing down but being a greater light in a darker world. The Gospel of Jesus Christ still needs to be preached to those who don't know and believers need to wake up and take a stand on moral grounds (truths from the Bible). I am calling on all believers who truly are born again from above to catch fire and be the greatest light in one of our nations darkest history. At the same time is is our duty to pray for Barak Obama that he would do what is right, not for popular opinion but because of morality.

hello all,
I listened to Barack Obama's speech again this weekend and it was so awesome! I get the sense that he is a very Christian and open minded person.

I got the sense that he was not trying to play up the fact that his race is any more important than the next person. He did talk about the lady who is 106 years old, but it was more as a base for discussing the changes she has faced. Plus he has lived in various states and countries, so he has good life experiences to draw on. I am very happy and excited to see what he can do for world peace!

open minded is not really a Christian trait, your mind is to be opened to the Word of God and nothing else....other than the direction of the HS...but I know what you are implying and as much as I wish he was what I think you think he is, idk and try not to think about it.....he verywell could be the one who signs the 7 yr treaty....after all the antichriswt will have all of the right answers to deceive....

he does have a lot of good things to say but I am scared his socialist package will hurt my business bad...not that we have to claim everything we make but the honest way seems to trump scheming and I am scared that though he is a great motivational speaker, he wont carry through on all he has promised. If he just pulls out the troops too many more will die, IMO

It is sad to hear people talk about Obamma in a positive light when there is nothing Christian about accepting and promoting sin and for 18 yrs he sat in a church with a heretic for a Pastor who believes Jesus is black and our Govt should be destroyed....do you think maybe some of the fanaticisim rubbed off on him? Ultimately he won for 2 reasons. 1 He said what people wanted to hear and 2, was black....unfortunately, those who voted based on color alone pushed him over the edge and it was a combination of both. People hate Bush and even though he hasn't done that bad of a job, they will always swing the other way in times like this....let's pray he doesn't ban the bible and preaching and legalize abortion and gay marriage in a way that it cannot be fixed.

Hopefully he keeps his promises but if he doesn't he will just be out in 4 years

Amen!! Although we are commanded to pray for our leaders, It doesn't mean we should support his ideas and philosophy when they conflict with God's Word. Not supporting Obama may even in the future mean persecution, Peter quoted the phrase in Acts we ought to obey God rather that man, they can put us in jail for preaching and not accepting Gays and Lesbian, but they cannot stop our mouths to speak truth.

Romans 13:1-6 –

1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.

America may have elected Obama into office, but he could not have gotten that position unless God allowed it. Regardless of opinions of the man in the position, we must respect the position because it is God ordained, and we are subject to Him, not the man in the position.

2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.

We talk a lot about being blessed and highly favored of the Lord, yet we are unwilling to submit to the authorities in our lives place there by God. We have some audacity to assume God is going to bless a rebellious spirit, for not submitting to the authorities placed over us by God is the spirit of rebellion. Do I have to mention Balaam?

3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.

It is not our responsibility to cast stones at anyone. Our responsibility is only to do good. If you think you can be a better president, why wasn’t you name on the bill? We don’t have to be afraid of, jealous of, or angry with the authorities placed over us if we simply keep our focus on doing good.

4 For he is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.

Whether you agree with it or not, Obama is God’s minister for good here on earth. This will not be possible if we do not pray for him. We are called to repay evil with good. What good could possibly be seen in open opposition to our government officials?

5 Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience' sake. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God's ministers attending continually to this very thing.

Remember, it was mankind that deemed it fit for us to have a “king” (1 Samuel 8:5)—God was completely content being out king. We are merely reaping what we’ve sown.

Oh my, my, my! Finally someone speaks the WORD and the TRUTH! Thank you so much! This was so refreshing to read. I was almost ready to close my account here because what I was reading is so disheartening. To hear members speak so badly of this man and to even say we were better off with our last President is insane. Obama hasn't even done anything yet, not even in the Oval Office, but he's been pegged as "pulling the wool over your eyes."

How is it we're being deceived without yet feeling the consequences of the deception? Please remove the wool from over your eyes so you may see where we are today as oppose to where we were 8 years ago. Are you not still feeling the raft of being deceived in a heighten major recession, jobs being lost by the thousands everyday, homes lost to mortgage lending credit scams (homeowners being blamed for buying too much home--how is it they are being blamed for it without the authority to grant themselves home loans; yet, the lenders commission checks increases for every thousand of dollars of market value they approved)?

An economy fueled by the people was raped and dragged through the mud for inflated Gas and Oil prices jacked sky high to put us all in the poor house and then dropped down with no explanation as to what changed to bringing it back down again. There is no explanation because there wasn't a need for the increased prices in the first place.

Its the issues we all face that's more important than the puppet masters themselves. This isn't Heaven, therefore, there will be shortcomings. However, if we change our motivations to focus on helping one another instead of focusing on matters that are out of our control, then possibly we would be serving a greater good to all mankind.

Bunnfactor, again, it was so refreshing to hear you speak as true Christians should speak to one another without bigotry. May you continue in sound mind of Christ and able and willing to speak to His people where ever the Spirit leads you.

No matter who the people vote as president, the U.S.A. is still the best place in the world as far as the quality of life goes. I was born in Germany, and I have traveled to a lot of places outside the U.S. and we are by far the most free people in the world.

Amen To that Bunnfactor. I just don't understand some of these other comments and I am just so happy to be able to make sense of what you have to say about this...Caitlin has made a great point too.... God Bless you guys...

hello all,
I am not sure that I agree Obama is un-Christian, his speech did not denote that to me.

He seemed to be trying to take the middle ground and not step on too many toes. He talked so much about the global economy and world visions that need to be addressed.

I did not think that he took any sides for the racist issues or any thing like that, I maybe did not hear it all correctly?!!

Maybe McCain was a better pick but he was a moderate. Unfortunately, a little bit better does not mean, "good." He chose to take the middle road many times, accepting things anti-Christian to get other things passed. There is no middle road to heaven, it's all or nothing. You're fooling yourselves to think choosing the lesser of two evils is better, which is exactly what you did when you voted for McCain. Did anyone bother to look at his record or did you just see he was a Republican and voted for him? I just amazed by how passionate some of you are about this. Are you Christians first or Republicans first? Sometimes I wonder.
