Do you have any tips on how to have a fairy tale dream vacation at Walt Disney world and not kill my wallet. I'm looking for any kind of sensible reasonable advice, tips and help.
I want the dream - just don't want to lose the house over it - economy is ruff but I can't just stop living. so I just wanted to pick all of your brains and see what comes up.
When I went to Disneyland in California last January, one of the things my family did was eat outside the park. Food inside the park is insanely expensive. So if you want to save money on food, see if they have a fast food right outside the park or eat before you leave and bring a couple snack bags. Also what we did to save on drinks is bring a bottle of water into the park (you can refill then at the water fountains in the park). If you don't like plain water or you have kids, purschase some of those travel size lemonade packets that go right into a water bottle. You just add it to the water and you got a refreshing water bottle full of lemonade. You can find the bottle size packets at your local grocery stores (they usually come 10 in a box). Hope this helps.
Hi! Disneyland Paris was so expensive when we went and I suppose the best advice I could give would be to take a flask and some water mix like cool aid or something and keep adding that to water that you can get for free. It saves a lot of money and means that you always stay hydrated, especially whilst standing in the sun! Have fun at Disney! x

I'm assuming you're talking about Florida. Eat outside of the park. Wait until after tourist season to go, you can often get deals on tickets. Sometimes advance purchases will get you a deal. Invite some other friends and family and you possibly may get a group rate. You can often buy Disney items outside of the park, especially in Orlando. They usually charge more in the park for the same items. If you plan on going to the other parks also then buy the package deals instead of buying tickets seperately. Log on the Disney website, they often offer deals.
Yeah, basically don't eat inside the park and also try to avoid expensive souvenirs! Also, don't buy into the park taking your pictures when you are on certain rides ... take a digital or a 35mm camera with you and snap some on your own. ^_^
bring some snacks in your bag and the waterbottles with the powdered drink mixes is also a good suggestion. Do go during the off season and go on a weekday. The weekends are insanely crowded and you will wait in line much longer than its worth. Just a hint especially if you're going to take kids: go to Universal Studios and Universal Islands of Adventure. They're much cheaper and right there in Orlando near Disney. Islands has a Dr. Seuss area that is themed very well, even in the line areas. I went with work (I was a nanny at the time for a 3 and 5 year old) and the kids enjoyed Islands more than Magic Kingdom and waay more than Epcot. Epcot is great for older kids, teens, and adults. There's not much for the little ones, but the fireworks were the best there.
Well, I am not a one for money saving, but there is something that helps me save. I am quite childish, so the way I do it is I get a money bank. Then I start putting notes in most of the time, when I earn it from my work. Not all of the time though. I still need food to eat. I get a special money bank though. You can only open it once it's full, by that time I must have quite alot of ¥(Yen), to spend. I could go to Walt Disney world. I hardly go to places like that though - very, very expensive. Anyway, I hope you can go soon! Good luck.
