Comment by Vanessa Tang on February 28, 2012 at 10:27am I would say that, no, it doesn't - but that is not necessarily a bad thing.
Comment by Evangelist Johnny J Christen on February 15, 2012 at 5:05pm Quote - 1st Timothy 5:8 teaches that a man who doesn't care for his family is worse than an infidel. Obviously, the people who sold their homes and lands were in a position to do so without jeopardizing the safety and well-being of their families. It's a shame that America's churches have turned into a den of thieves, where pastors are continually begging for more money, twisting the Scriptures to seduce people into giving until it hurts, End quote!!!
Praise Elohim for this truth brother Alan......

Comment by alan walton on February 15, 2012 at 4:43pm @ Johnny yes I did and one of those videos about the Creflo Dollar guy ...well I had seen the one that that guy was talking about with Creflo Dollar saying if you didn't tithe they would like to line em up in the parking lot and shoot em down...I refer to him as Creflo Givemeyour Dollar ....I haven't looked at everything, but will try to get back to it....I have posted a long reply on this same thing about the tithe on another discussion called; Tithing---NOT a N.T. principal....it is pretty long, but if you get the chance check it out and let me know what you think....http://www.holypal.com/forum/topics/921995:Topic:53262?commentId=92...

My pastor was buying hunting rifles christmas trees/presents for the family and loved ones and God only knows what eles he was doing with the tithes but none of it went back to the brethren as each one had need as in the book of Acts and they never even collected tithes!!! what a joke......
did you check out my teaching on the Sin of Tithing today?
Preachers today do not want to touch that subject with a 10 foot pole brother!!!

Comment by alan walton on February 15, 2012 at 4:04pm @ Johnny and Michael...I have to agree with you guys about the tithing ....not a New Testament thing....especially the way most ministers today pressure people with a guilt trip to give ....to expand their ministries they say....but what some really mean is so that they can live lavish lifestyles and take trips to Hawaii or the Holy Land courtesy of the church.
Comment by Evangelist Johnny J Christen on February 15, 2012 at 3:41pm That’s exactly why I walked out of organized religion altogether back in 2002! I just couldn’t take it any longer they only wanted to gather together on Sundays and Wednesdays, they never broke bread or fellowshipped in each other’s homes, they celebrated Christ-Mass Good Friday Easter Sunday and even Halloween!!! It was unbelievable and on top of all that they kept begging for tithes and offerings to support this apostasy and that was in the UPC brother!!! I had at least two very serious meetings with my pastor concerning these issues among others and he just didn’t want to hear it at all! I instantly became the enemy there so I walked out and never looked back….
Comment by Michael Buhay Jr. on February 15, 2012 at 11:41am @Evangelist Johnny................I agree that it is sin to collect tithes today and to ASK anyone for money to support their ministry. And regarding the 24/7 committment, that is the primary reason that I have never been able to fit in with a "church". I have not come across Christians near me who are willing to restructure their lives to serve the Lord. They want to pursue their personal ambitions and are basically content with listening to a sermon one day a week. And we wonder why there is no revival and no power emanating from the churches.
