This is for people who know that the general story taught about a place of fiery torment is both unscriptural and illogical. It is actually an assault on the very nature of God and his character of Mercy. (Ps. 107:1).
All verses that are usually pointed out as proof for a place of fiery torment are shown to be translated wrong or misunderstood. For example, Matthew 10:28 points to destruction and not eternal pain in a fiery pit.
The false doctrine of a endless place of pain is largely pagan in origin. Both Plato and Virgil taught about a place of pain for evil doers. Dante adopted much of this in his works.
