Have you ever stopped to think of the myriad of things we have to do in any given day? And wouldn’t it be nice if we could lump all those things down to one thing.
Paul had that thought in Philippians 3:13. He said, “But one thing I do” not two or three things, but one thing and he zeroed in on that one thing.
There were at least three parts to his plan to narrow things down to one thing. 1) Was to forget 2) was to reach forward and 3) was to obtain the prize. Paul had one thing in mind. It wa…

It’s a bad day. Nothing is working right, the devil is on the prowl seeking whom he may devour, and his next meal is in sight. It’s you! Friends have turned their backs on you, trouble is on the horizon and what was once sweet, has now turned sour. Have you ever had a day like that? Most of us have. If you are breathing, then there will be a few of “those days”. Your best friend says, “Take care. Things are bound to get better.” Really? You could have fooled me.
The Bible declares in Isaiah 26:3 that we will find perfect peace when our minds are stayed on Him and therein lies our hope. Our hope is in Jesus, not the cares of this world. Take care? I don’t think so because I cast my cares on Him. Why? Because He cares. And because He cares for you and me, we can face tomorrow with a hope and a future. Because he lives, I can face tomorrow.”
Isn’t it wonderful that we have a Heavenly Father who cares for us even when the world does not? And what better way to serve God then to give it all to him, the bad and the good.
Many people face their tomorrows without hope. Their futures are bleak and without promise. Storms are on the horizon and things do not look good. Clouds of failure lurk ever so close. There is no one to turn to for help. Even our best friend has turned their back on us.
Ah, but there is hope! And it is found in Jesus Christ who is Lord and Savior and who will never befriend you. When there are no friends, He will be your best friend and that is a promise from God. “I will never leave you or forsake you.”
