Advice to the Christian Divorced Women

I don’t mean to be such a downer today but I have been doing some thinking that I have never thought of today. I’ve been divorced two times. My second marriage ended the same way as the first. My husband left me for another woman. In the tragedy that still secretly haunts me today I am able to…

Poem: Power Thoughts

I’ve decided to not live in fear;

I can do all things through Christ,

Who, with His Word, strengthens me;

God loves this child- unconditionally!

I love different kinds of people

and enjoy helping them with my gifts.

I’ve decided to be difficult to offend;

quick to forgive, repent and befriend

others in the forming of relationships,

helps me in my solo pursuit of peace.

There’s no point to mindlessly hurry,

scurrying about with needless…

He Believes in You

"I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours." -John…

Finished For Today.....

But before I go.....As you may remember, I've asked prayers for my Brother-In-Law Alan....His left kidney was removed along with that cancer, but.....

He still has cancer (Prostrate), and today he started his first Radiation Therapy for that.....He has 44 treatments to go....

We ask that you keep him in your prayers....Radiation Therapy, I believe, is just as bad, if not worse than, Chemotherapy......

He will be 72 this coming Sunday.....And these treatments are…

The three Gardens of the Bible

After the creation epic we see the Bible open with a garden.  And in the last part of the Bible we see another garden. The first garden is a paradise which was lost because of sin, whereas the last garden is where paradise is restored.  And situated between these two gardens is another named Gethsemane, where the Lord was in anguish due to the fall in the…

A Morning Thought...

Good morning everyone! Psalm 118:24 says… “This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” What do we have to be concerned with today; when God has not only given us a brand new day but a day, where His presence surrounds us; even during the dark moments of our circumstances? Wow…what a God!

As we begin this morning; I would like to share several Bible verses with you, from Psalm 119:49-52 and we read… “Remember your word to your servant, for…

God's Wrath In The Day Of The Lord

God's Wrath In The Day Of The Lord

“The day of the Lord is coming –

a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger.”

(Isa. 13:9)

When the Bible talks about end times it often associates that period with a Cosmic Sign in the heavens where…

Get up and go faith: The faith Jesus is looking for

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, “Why are you thinking evil in your hearts? “Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, and walk ‘? “But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins “– then He said to the paralytic, “Get up, pick up your bed and go home.”…

Above All...

The weekend is here, already!  Time has flown for the week, that's for sure...I'm going now....I'm going to enjoy the weekend, but....I'm also going to be thinking of the one.....The only one....

He's the one who took the fall....Who carried the sins of the world, my sins included,…

Hidden apples of Wisdom?

The Song of Songs has often been looked upon as a strange little book and many over the centuries have wondered why it is even in the scriptures.  It was even disputed somewhat as late as 90 AD, at the Council of Jamnia.  As for the time of its composition dates range from about 980 BC all the way down to the late date of 220 BC.  It is also a book that seems to have many interpretations that…

Ripples in the Mainstream

Devotion to Jesus makes people come alive inside. Devotion to Jesus shatters the mainstream. Devotion to Jesus causes people to be real change agents in this world. Devotion to Jesus is the salt that enhances and preserves the world, and it is the light that illuminates the darkness. Devotion to Jesus creates peace and joy in your heart and provides contentment in the midst of a crazy economy and a lousy job market. Devotion to Jesus is the foundation to build your…

295 more innocent people have been killed by hate and discontent.

Loving God, as we remember the poor victims of this terrible violence, we shudder from the sadness of this loss. May that sadness be transformed into compassion for both the dead, their families and loved ones. May the fear struck in us by the horror of this tragedy give way to awe at the unending power of your unconditional love for each person. May we uncover the energy of our anger and use it to right what is wrong in our own behavior toward one another and to…

Grow Up!

We are to live like citizens of a future world, guarding each step to make sure it matches the step of God. Not out of fear, but out of love. Not because man observes and keeps score, but because God watches, and we want to please Him. "Obey God because you are His children. Don't slip back into your old ways of doing evil; you didn't know any better then" (1 Peter 1:14). We cannot come to Christ and continue to respond to the world in the same way. If we have an…

Poem: Eternal Embrace

How can I not be full of contentment?

God is not a Man, that He would lie.

On a daily basis, His promises flow;

He is the Source, on Whom I can rely.

Despite the surrounding difficulties,

I’ve purposed to accept His sacred Word;

therefore, I will continue to stand firm,

by His grace and loving messages heard.

His everlasting mercies are renewed;

I remain girded by His faithfulness!

With the thankfulness of my frail heart,

I am still unable to…

Should Christians be siding with Israel or Palestine?

If you are pro-Palestinian, you are pro-Islam, pro-Hamas, pro-terrorist, pro-hate, pro-propaganda. Israel is no angel either but people are pushing propaganda like never before so that you side with the Palestinians and hate Jews to the point of wanting them dead. We should not want any…

Teens Begin Group to Study Old Testament and New Testament Characters

By Greg Miller © 2014

A group of teenagers formed a Bible study group to learn about Old Testament and New Testament characters.

The youth took turns leading the weekly Bible studies. Clark led the first class in a discussion about Adam, the world’s first man.

“Adam was perfect in every way,” Clark began. “I think he was very tall with dark, thick…

The Earth is the Lord’s and everything in it.

I’m not sure where we got the idea that the earth belongs to us but it sure isn't the message of the Bible. True, the creation narrative in Genesis does set humans in a unique position as caretakers among the rest of creation but instead of giving us divine size egos, it should humble us and clue us in to the fact that we might have a special role to play in the grand drama of life.…

A modest examination of 1 Timothy 2:9

To a great extent it depends on the time and circumstances.  I believe Paul was basically talking aboutwithin a church meeting or the market place.  He did not have the summer beach in mind, where more skin would be exposed due to cooling, tanning, and swimming.  And I think he may have been speaking about being in order instead of being…
