Cedar Trees

I often trail off when doing some Bible research and this time I started to look at the Cedars of Lebanon.  These are mentioned sometimes in the scriptures.  They are a very stately tree with a broad base and trunk. Evidently in ancient times these were more numerous then now. The Cedars of Lebanon (Cedrus libani) are now an endangered and protected species. They are no longer used for lumbar or…

Poem: Love, Stability and Peace

As His children, grafted into the Living Tree,

we should be bearing the Spirit’s fruit of:

joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness,

faithfulness, kindness, willpower and Love.

Christian examples are desperately needed,

for a dying World that is going to hell.

Waving a Bible, filled with holy principles,

has never worked, but genuine actions tell

them the absolute truth about Jesus Christ.

Can we expect the unsaved to find release,…

Humility comes before Honor...

Before destruction a man's heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.--Proverbs 18:12

In the scriptures being humble and exhibiting humility did not mean a weak pushover but instead indicated someone who is not conceited and a self-absorbed worshiper of self.   God resists such a selfish soul because…

Young Girl’s Wagon Train Dream is for the Birds

By Greg Miller © 2014

A group of elementary school students returned to classes after the conclusion of their summer vacation.

During recess one afternoon, several students discussed the vibrant colors of the world’s birds. “My favorite bird color is black,” offered Clay. “Nothing is as beautiful as a big black bird soaring high above the…

Gunslinger Challenges Preacher to Duel

By Greg Miller © 2014

Old West Gunslinger challenged Old West Preacher to a duel.

Reasoning that “times are tough,” Gunslinger supplemented his illegal income with money he legally earned as the town’s undertaker.

Gunslinger was certain as to his weapon of choice. “I’ll use my favorite six shooter,” he told Bartender. “It’s never failed…

Center of Gravity

God's promises in the bible have always been about one thing and one thing alone: God's glory. The enemy has done a spectacular job of distorting God. From a bully to a genie to a butler, the devil spews out lie after lie about the character of God. A sincere and honest reading of the bible and Jesus' words regarding the power of faith leads to one conclusion: God's promises are all about His glory and our salvation. This means, the promises must lead to God's…

A Daily Thought...by Author Diane K Chamberlain

Good morning everyone! I hope that you are having a good start to your day! As I was getting around this morning; God was taking me back to an old hymn, titled… “He Leadeth Me” and as I was singing the words to myself; I was thinking on how God can truly take us by the hand and lead us through life; that is if we are willing to trust Him enough, to let Him do that for us.

As we begin this morning; let’s turn to a few Bibles verses in Psalm 23:1-3 and we read… “The Lord is…

The Great Commission

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to all Christians! Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” The Great Commission was not just for the immediate disciples that He was speaking to but it is given to all believers. Today, the Great Commission is still being fulfilled by…

A Daily Thought...by Author Diane K Chamberlain

Good morning everyone! I hope that you are having a good start to your week! How many times do we attempt to find strength within ourselves?  Why is it that we are more likely to hold tightly to a situation, rather than leaning on God’s strength, to see us through these difficult moments? These are a few things that we will be discussing in the devotion this morning.

As we begin today; I would like to share a Bible verse with you, from I Samuel 30:6 and we read… “David was…

Christians and Their Job

Hello Everyone,

I would like some input on employment for Christians. Due to the decrease in jobs in this country, people are forced to take jobs they would never think they would ever take just to pay bills and put food on the table including Christians. Is it okay for a Christian to work in a casino as a cashier and a banker if there are no other jobs in the area due to the area being depressed? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless you all.

Dear Friends in Christ,  After a long time I am coming to you with one Prayer Request. Ms. M. A Daily Thought...by Author Diane K Chamberlain

Good morning everyone! I truly hope that you are having a good start to your Sunday! I just love Sundays because this not only becomes a day, when we worship God but this also becomes a day, when we rest from a busy week; to allow God to renew us, for another new week ahead. Aren’t you glad that God has everything in control and that He can foresee the things that lie ahead of us? When we think of it…God actually is the One that leads us through the dark moments of life and becomes the light…

The Ultimate Christian Makeover

"Put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness." -Ephesians 4:22-24

This means you are going to have to do some putting off and you are going to have to do some putting on — and the putting off has to happen before the putting on. It's just like trying on clothes in a…
