To me, life is ministry—it should be for all Christians.
That being said, I think that when you have a goal, a desire, a passion for something, you should not let anything stand in your way to pursuit this object of your focus. In ministry, God, His Will, and His plan for your life should be that focus. God created every one of us with a purpose to fulfill and we should be passionate about fulfilling that purpose. We should awake everyday with a newfound hope and desire to pursue this life God has given us with an expectation that God has awesome things in store for us that day. Knowing this, we should not let anything, whether it be circumstances, moods, feelings, emotions, dispositions or anything like that, hinder us from pursuing this life that God has given us and this purpose we are to fulfill. The word "motivation" is a trap send by the enemy to keep us defeated and to prevent us from walking this life of ministry out. In other words, forget about motivation—just do it!
It doesn't matter what excuse I may have or what I "feel" like, I have a mandate on my life and if my passion for my ministry was equivalent to my passion for the other things in my life that I desire, I wouldn't let anything stand in my way. So, why does that not apply to my calling? Why should I let anything stand in my way?
I may seem harsh at times, but I have a purpose to fulfill and I do NOT have time to waste on people that are stagnant, complacent, or contrary to the vision I am pursuing. I do not care what my feelings say about you, if you are not in support of what I am doing, you are nothing more than a hurdle in my path attempting to impede my progress and I have nothing for you.
It is time for the Body of Christ to stop being ruled by the cares of this world, and the feelings and emotions that are constantly influenced by the enemy, and stand up to live the life God has called them to. It is time for us for refuse to let ANYTHING prevent us from going after the things we want in life. There are no excuses, only reasons, and most of them are invalid. I refuse to let anything stand in the way of the things I want, regarding ministry or otherwise—why should you?
