OBAMA COVERS CHRIST AND CROSS AT GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY! LET OBAMA KNOW WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

President Barack Obama chose Georgetown University as the site to deliver an economic address on Tuesday, April 14th. In preparing the backdrop for the Obama speech the White House demanded that University officials cover all religious symbols. Georgetown officials complied with the White House request and used a piece of plywood, painted black, to cover a cross and the symbol “IHS” which represents Jesus.

Obama stood beneath the blacked-out symbol of Christ, and Christianity, to deliver his speech. Once word of this latest slap in the face of Christians got out it became a hot topic on the internet.

OpposingViews.com reports that Catholic League president Bill Donohue made the following comments.

“The cowardice of Georgetown to stand fast on principle tells us more than we need to know about what is going on there, but the bigger story is the audacity of the Obama administration to ask a religious school to neuter itself before the president speaks there. No bishop who might speak at the White House would ever request that a crucifix be displayed behind him. Moreover, the same church and state fanatics who go nuts every time a polling place is set up in the basement of a Catholic school have been noticeably silent over this incident.”

Reverend Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition says,

"Now that the White House has publicly admitted covering a sacred faith symbol for the name of Jesus at Georgetown University, it is imperative that they release a public apology for their disrespect of faith expressions. For President Obama not to address the issue publicly would show utter contempt for religious expressions as well as a slap in the face to all those who cherish the name of Jesus."

All of this comes just days after Obama stood in Turkey and announced that the United States is no longer a Christian nation.

What are we to think of this President? What are the true underlying reasons for an open rejection of Christianity by an American President? Are Christians to remain silent on this matter or should we demand an explanation from our President?

I believe it is time we stand up and let our collective voices be heard. I think it is time we remind President Obama that we are here and that we vote. I think it's time we let Barack Obama know that we ARE a Christian nation founded upon Christian principles and beliefs.

In Mark 8:38, Jesus says, "If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels."

We need to let our President know that we are not ashamed of Christ. We need to let our President know that we are ashamed of his behavior and attitude toward Christians.

President Obama doesn't believe in honoring Christ or honoring the beliefs of Christians, but he does believe in the internet. He believes in instant communication.

So, if you're sick of all of this, email the president. Send him an email containing Mark 8:38 and tell him we are not ashamed, and that we "Christian-Americans", demand better of our President.

It's the same kind of thing in Canada. They want separation of Church and State...not separation of State and Church. In other words, they want to dictate what can and can be done and said in the the name of religion, but Heaven forbid a person of faith stand up and say that shouldn't be done in government.
