Only 7 months to live!

I'm going to be a daddy in January!! YAY!

(and yes i'm married, and by married i mean common law.)

(B----D Joke removed from blog post.)

And then maybe when he/she/it is about 17 and driving, i'll convince him/her/it that he/she/it is adopted just for fun, and once they get stuck on the idea of dad being a mailman, i'll wind up on the maury show trying to win them back. it's going to be a great 18 years.

Goodness gracious! Nicholas you sure know how to get attention. I know common law is a widely used term for unwed parents but throwing out the old cliche of a bastard child is a negative conotation that the old religions threw out at us for political and religious control over fuetal systems of old europe. So with that being said..............please I would never want my kid to come across this forum and read this unless you of course added my disclaimer of the indirectly passed negative label.
Love ya daddy to be!

Congratulations Nicholas!! Being a parent is the greatest treasure on earth God can bestow. My husband and I were also common law when our first two sons came into this world ( we will celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary on May 29th and 25 years being together on June 21st), but we NEVER called our two boys "b------s" nor did we ever lie to them. To this very day, and our two eldest sons are 23 (24 in September) and 21 (22 in June), my husbands name is not on their birth certificates.. but they have no doubt at all that he is their dad. Heck.. our oldest looks almost identical to his dad, and our second oldest shows a LOT of resemblance at times. We don't love them any less than the three who were born after we were legally married.
Again.. congratulations. Whether you realize it or not at this point in time..it is a blessing.

Congratulations...I did something like that to each of my 5 kids and they still turned out fine. Have fun, kids are a blessing. A challenge but a blessing.
