Happy New Year

I look forward to spending another year in the company of my brothers and sisters in Christ here on HP. May the new year bring you all closer in the knowledge of God's word and love.

Happy New Year to All! I'm sorry I haven't been on line much lately. I'm still trying hard to overcome the cravings of smoking and everytime I sit down at the computer the cravings get worse. It seems I can't get my thoughts together without a smoke. So far, I have been COMPLETELY smoke free for 5 days. Keep praying for me, and God bless everyone!

You know, statistically (TRUE), more people wind up dying from second hand smoke? i'm just kiddin ya, zippos off to ya if you smoke, and proud of ya if you continue not to. eat sunflower seeds. IT WORKS!

and you can always chew a cigarette. that will take away your craving

Congratulations for making the choice to quit smoking Randee!! Way to go!!!! I know it's hard..and i KNOW that there are some days that the struggle just doesn't seem worth it. But believe me.. it all gets better. July 21,2008 I will celebrate 5 YEARS of being smoke free!!! I smoked for 22 - 23 years..

Isn't today your b-day Cami? Happy 43! I get to be 44 on Feb 1, but that's okay 'cause I refuse to grow up : P.

Randee, my dad took up Lifesavers after a heart attack forced him to quit. It worked for him. Just be careful about eating because food will all of a sudden start tasting better when you quit smoking. I'll pray for you. Is your husband staying smoke free still? That can't be fun for both of you, but it's worth it. I remember how edgy my daughter was when she quit during her pregnancy, on top of the pregnancy hormones! She took it up again after having the baby, though. One of her "friends" bought her a pack of Camels and wanted her to have her first post-pregnancy smoke with him, what a friend!

Thank you all for your prayers. Yes, my husband and I are still smoke free, and still have cravings. Good idea lifesavers. I will give that a try. And sunflower seeds are yummy too. And yes, I am eating all the time! I started exercises and walks so maybe that will help. It is hard for us both to be quitting, cuz we are both so moody and edgy with each other. Yet, we support each other too. I don't believe I would of been able to stop smoking if my hubby was still smoking too.

Happy Birthday Cami!

Thank you for all the birthday greetings..it was GREAT!!! Hubby bought me a dozen pink roses, a new pair of shoes for work, and permed my hair for me :P He's my live in hair dresser. Oldest son made me my cake .. a double layer chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and white icing. And i had two kinds of chocolate ice cream. can ya TELL I LOVE chocolate?!!
You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers, Randee ( as well as your hubby) as you continue down the road to being smoke-free.
